Indoor Plumbing and Plumbing Rehabilitation clients are referred to AHIP (Albemarle Housing Improvement Program) for Greene County or Rapidan Better Housing for Madison and Orange counties for repairs to owner-occupied dwellings that have no water or wastewater systems or have failed systems or systems that do not meet basic housing standards. Skyline CAP, Inc. provides application and case management services and some funding through HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Equal).
Skyline HOME Repair (Greene County) uses HOME funds distributed by the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission to make repairs that address the client's entire dwelling. At completion, the unit must pass a HUD Housing Quality Standards inspection. The Greene County HOME Action Plan addresses priority projects for rehabilitation of substandard owner-occupied homes with highest priority to the elderly and disabled.
To be eligible for emergency home repair assistance, the unit must be owner-occupied and the owner must meet income requirements. Preference is given to seniors and persons with disabilities.
For assistance in Greene County, call Jack Naylor at 434-985-6066.
