Because living within your means is the first step towards self-sufficiency, Skyline CAP offers money management counseling services to clients. As part of the agency's Emergency Assistance and Housing Counseling programs, counselors work with clients to review budgets and spending priorities. To access these services, contact the housing counselor in your county.

Skyline CAP, Inc. provides emergency assistance to residents in our three-county service area (Madison, Orange, and Greene counties). Emergency Assistance funds provide payments toward transportation and medical expenses, past due utility or rent/mortgage payments and food, when an unexpected crisis occurs. Assistance is limited to a specific amount and is offered in conjunction with budget counseling, short-term case management and referrals are made where applicable. Other resources within the county can provide additional assistance for those bills that exceed the allowable amount.
For assistance, contact the Emergency Assistance coordinator in your county:

In addition, the agency received a grant from Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University to offer clients a 13-week, comprehensive money management course. In FPU, you will meet with your class each week to watch a video lesson and participate in discussion groups that will change how you think about money. The small group sessions are intended to promote accountability and deepen the discussions about the lessons learned. In each video session, Dave Ramsey explains how money really works in a simple, easy-to-understand style. Each of the 13 Lessons deals with a different topic that will change the way you think about personal finance.
